West Lancashire Law is a family run practice based just outside of Skelmersdale, Lancashire and close to Wigan, Preston, Liverpool and Manchester.

William Harold Parkinson is a Barrister with almost 20 years experience and with over 20 years experience in law. William has expertise in advocacy, skilled drafting, negotiation and litigation.

William is a civil law specialist with his practice focusing on the areas of personal injury and landlord and tenant. He qualified as a mature student at UCL having previously worked in the deep mines of the Lancashire coalfields. He has a well founded personal experience of, and a keen interest in, heavy industry, building, construction and engineering practices and their application to the health and safety at work legislation.
His personal injury practice encompasses accidents at work, slips/trips, road traffic accidents, low velocity impacts, credit hire and fatal accidents in both the fast track and multi track.
He has a wealth of experience in cases where allegations of fraud are raised by the defendants.
LANDLORD AND TENANT
His landlord and tenant experience includes advising and representing clients in the County Court and High Court on possession, service charge arrears, forfeiture of leases and disrepair.
Katie has worked within the legal profession in various capacities over the years since she left school including costs drafting.
She attended Glamorgan University as a mature student reading law and graduated in 2013 with a 2:1 LLB Honours.
Katie completed numerous work placements with Solicitors firms during that time. Upon graduating in 2013 Katie commenced full time employment with a Solicitors firm in Blackpool working within the Care Proceedings department while also gaining experience in Crime and Personal Injury.
Katie also attended the University of Central Lancashire part time over two years and completed the Legal Practice Course graduating in September 2015.
Katie has gained extensive experience in Family Law after having worked for two large Solicitors firms. Katie also has knowledge and experience of Personal Injury and Criminal Litigation along with Employment Law and Civil Litigation. Katie has a particular interest in work involving social services, care proceedings, child arrangements and safeguarding children. She is passionate about family work and helping those struggling with a topic that requires a good ear, compassion and confidentiality.
Katie has a keen interest in politics, enjoys motorsport, football and rugby. Katie also has a passion for fashion & vintage clothing. She is an experienced fell and mountain walker who enjoys visiting her favourite place, the Lake District as often as possible.
Katie is the practice manager and clerk to Mr Parkinson, her father, together they run the Chambers as a family business.
Katie is working towards becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
